84* off 48, 2019 vs RCB

Dhoni scored 455 runs in 16 games in 2018, his second highest season in the IPL in terms of runs. RCB held CSK to 83/5 in 13.1 overs after putting up a total of 161 runs in 20 overs. Dhoni stood tall at the other end, scoring nicely as wickets fell at the other end. CSK appeared to be out of the game as they needed 26 runs off the last over, but Dhoni almost pulled off a miracle by hitting 24 runs off Umesh Yadav’s final over.

This was one of Dhoni’s first career wickets, and it was also one of his clutch ones. Dhoni single-handedly raised the team’s score to 128 off 20 overs when they were struggling at 22/4 off 6 overs. Only Saha and Dhoni scored in double figures, while Dhoni accounted for over half of the team’s runs.
