Info:

  • Skipper Sanju Samson has scored over 500 runs for Rajasthan Royals in this year’s IPL and the right-hander is our pick for their highest run scorer against RCB. Yuzvendra Chahal has 17 wickets across this campaign and we are backing the spinner to be Rajasthan Royals’ top wicket taker in this Eliminator.
  • Virat Kohli hit an unbeaten century the last time these two sides went head to head and he is our tip for RCB’s highest run scorer against Rajasthan Royals. Yash Dayal is RCB’s leading wicket taker in the tournament and the left-arm pacer is well worth backing as their top wicket taker on Wednesday.
  • After striking another seven boundaries in his last innings, we recommend selecting Virat Kohli to hit the most boundaries in this fixture..

Just under 55% of the 33 IPL matches to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium have been won by the team fielding first so we predict that both sides will approach this game hoping to win the toss and choosing to bowl first.

Weather & Pitch Report

Weather:

According to the forecast, the temperature could well be over 40 degrees at the start of this game on Wednesday. And it will not cool down all that much across the match with the temperature expected to still be over 37 degrees by midnight.

Pitch Report:

This pitch has helped to produce some big scores across this high-scoring IPL campaign and we could be in for two more high totals in this game. There is usually more assistance for the quick bowlers than for the spinners but overall the pace and bounce are extremely reliable at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Whoever bats first will be looking to pass 210.

Team NEWS:

RR Team News:

After their long run of defeats, Rajasthan Royals did not even get onto the pitch against KKR on Sunday with even the shortened seven over aside game rained off after the toss. Player availability is the same as ahead of that match with Jos Buttler the main absentee due to returning home to the UK..

RCB Team News:

There is no doubt that there is a buzz in the RCB camp after their remarkable run of form and after they knocked out the defending champions in their last game. With no injuries, it is only Will Jacks, who has returned to the UK, who is unavailable for this match.

Team Combo:

RR Team Info –

  • Rajasthan Royals must be disappointed with the way things went for them in the last few matches, they could not win any of their last 5 matches and as a result they could not finish at the top 2 stage.
  • Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tom Kohler Cadmore will probably open the inning.
  • Sanju Samson will bat at the one-down position. He is the backbone of the batting team.
  • Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel will handle the middle-order batting.
  • Riyan Parag is having topmost fantasy points in this series.
  • Sanju Samson will lead the Rajasthan Royals as a Captain. He is also a good Wicket-Keeper
  • Dhruv Jurel will do the Wicket Keeping for Rajasthan Royals.
  • Riyan Parag and Ravichandran Ashwin will take care of the spin bowling of his team.
  • Riyan Parag is having topmost fantasy points in this series.
  • Trent Boult and Avesh Khan will lead the pace attack of his team.

RCB Team Info –

  • RCB have done no less than a miracle after securing 6 out of their 6 victories in the last matches.

  • Yash Dayal and Mohammed Siraj will lead the pace attack of his team.

Winning Chances:

Rajasthan Royals do not look as strong a batting side without Jos Buttler and they will need to produce their best batting effort in this game to give a very confident RCB something to worry about. Three weeks ago this fixture would have been an easy win for Rajasthan Royals but the sides are in completely different frames of mind now. We are backing RCB to record their seventh successive win and to progress to the Qualifier 2.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru to beat Rajasthan Royals

Royal Challengers Bengaluru a 58% chance to win this match

Rajasthan Royals a 42% chance to win this match

Key Players:

Rajasthan Royals

Sanju Samson

the 29 year old has a huge amount of experience in the IPL and comes into this Eliminator averaging 56 this season and after hitting 47 fours in total.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

the left-handed Indian international has made only one score of 50+ from his last five innings but he has the ability to take the game away from RCB if he stays at the crease for long.

Yuzvendra Chahal

the spinner is the only player in the history of the IPL to have picked up over 200 wickets and he has taken between 12 and 27 wickets each season from 2014 onwards.

Avesh Khan

the right-arm fast medium bowler took two wickets in three balls in the last game and Rajasthan need a big performance from him if they are to progress in the tournament.

RR Possible Impact Player Substitutes

Nandre Burger, Tanush Kotian, Keshav Maharaj, Kuldeep Sen, Donovan Ferreira

In Rajasthan Royals’ last match, it was South African all-rounder Donovan Ferreira who came into the side as the impact player in place of Dhruv Jurel. Nandre Burger will be an option for an additional pace bowler with Keshav Maharaj the probable selection if the pitch is spinning.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Virat Kohli

the leading run scorer in IPL 2024 made 47 runs from 29 balls in Saturday’s victory and he is averaging 64.36 from 14 innings this season.

Faf du Plessis

the South African skipper is full of confidence ahead of this Eliminator after scoring 54 runs from 39 balls at the top of the order against CSK.

Glenn Maxwell

the all-rounder came back into the team on Saturday and took a wicket first ball before returning the most economical figures for his side.

Yash Dayal

the left-arm pacer got two big wickets in Daryl Mitchell and MS Dhoni against CSK. Although he was expensive, he was once again RCB’s biggest wicket taking threat.

RCB Possible Impact Player Substitutes

Swapnil Singh, Anuj Rawat, Suyash Prabhudesai, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Himanshu Sharma

Slow left-arm spinner Swapnil came into the team for the fielding innings in place of Rajat Patidar in the win over CSK and we expect the same substitution for this game.

Team Forms:

RR Team Form:

Rajasthan Royals come into this knockout game with four losses and one abandonment from Match 50 onwards.

RCB Team Form:

After beating CSK by the sufficient number of runs to qualify for the play-offs on Saturday, RCB have now won six matches in a row.

ipl today match pitch dimensions and pitch report:

Ian Bishop and Matthew Hayden:

There’s a nice wind coming across the ground. That has helped me keep a little cool because the humidity is quite severe. We are here on pitch number 7 – we haven’t used it at all for this IPL 2024. 61 metres and 72 metres square boundaries – tactically, where the offspiner bowls and where the legspinner bowls come into play. Down the ground – 77 metres – a lot of muscle needed. It looks dark compared to some of the other pitches on the square. This surface is extremely hard. It’s black clay, that means it’ll hold together really well. Whatever moisture has been put into the surface, it’s really going to mesh it all together. I expect a bit of bounce for the seamers, not a lot of turn for the spinners. The only defence for the spinners will be they’ve got that huge boundary to hit up against. In terms of runs, it’s a 175-180 type wicket. We know what Sunrisers Hyderabad’s blueprint is – it’s to score massive. If you do win the toss, Sunrisers will have a bat, put a big load of pressure on the Royals and let’s see how they go. The groundsman says there won’t be any dew.
