TEAM ANALYSIS:
India Women:

Six of India Women’s batters made scores between 21 and 36 in the opening game on Friday and they will need one or two of their top players to produce something big in this match. Neither their batters or bowlers were able to get on top of the Australian’s in the first match and we expect to see a response in this game.

IND-W Batting

Shafali Verma and Richa Ghosh both hit two sixes each in the first WT20I but India Women will be looking to the opening pair of Verma and Smriti Mandhana to take the attack to Australia Women in this game. Jemima Rodrigues made a six-ball duck on Friday and we expect a whole lot more from her in this match.

IND-W Bowling

It was an evening in Mumbai to forget for India Women’s bowlers in the first match. Leg-spinner, Devika Vaidya, in only her ninth WODI, was the only bowler in the attack to pick up a wicket. Renuka Singh and Deepti Sharma both have more than enough talent to dismiss Australian batters.

Australia Women:

It was an excellent start to this tour for Australia Women with both the batting and bowling unit proving their quality once again. That said, there is still room for improvement for the team and you would not be surprised to see them produce an even better showing in this match.

AUS-W Batting

The opening pair of Beth Mooney and skipper Alyssa Healy put on 73 from 8.5 overs before Healy, the skipper-keeper was dismissed for 37 runs from 23 balls. Beth Mooney took the Player of the Match Award with a very impressive 89 not out from 57 balls.

AUS-W Bowling

Kim Garth, Ellyse Perry, Ashleigh Gardner and Annabel Sutherland all picked up wickets in the opening match of the series but it was unusual to see Megan Schutt concede 43 runs from her four wicketless overs. Spinners, Jess Jonassen and Alana King, also did not pick up wickets but will be threats in this match.

Winning Chances:

Considering these two sides are seen as the top two in this format, most observers were expecting a closer contest in the opening clash. However, Australia showed how much of a professional side they are with an excellent display of tight bowling and controlled aggression in their batting at the top of the order. We expect India Women to run Australia Women closer in this clash but we are backing Australia Women to get another win.
