  • Suryakumar Yadav is the best T20 batter going around. He scored a blazing 17 ball fifty against RCB at the same venue. Surya should be backed as MI top batter. Jasprit Bumrah has been sensational for MI, taking 10 wickets, including a fifer. Back him as top bowler.
  • For CSK. Shivam Dube has hit 13 sixes in IPL 2024. He has been on a six hitting spree and will be keen to smoke a few at a jam-packed Wankhede. Back him to hit over 1.5 sixes in the match. Mustafizur Rahman has been top notch for CSK, taking nine wickets. His variations will be helpful on batting friendly Wankhede thus he can be backed as CSK top bowler.
  • Given the quality of both teams and the runs that have been scored at the venue, total runs in the match should be over 350.

Team NEWS:

MI Team News:

Mumbai Indians have been on a two match winning run and there don’t seem to be any need of changing the winning combination. We are very much sure that Hardik Pandya would go in with a tried and tested combination against CSK.

CSK Team News:

There won’t be much help on offer for spinners at Wankhede so CSK may drop Maheesh Theekshana and get in Matheesha Pathirana in the playing XI. No more changes should be there in the team unless someone picks up an injury ahead of the contest.

Winning Chances:

MI can be backed to win. The home advantage will be a big plus. Also, MI are a team when gets on a roll, can be very hard to stop. CSK have lost both the away games so far and will need a big performance from all their players to pull off a win. So far, only Shivam Dube has been consistent thus the task won’t be easy. We are backing MI to win.

Mumbai Indians to beat Chennai Super Kings.

Mumbai Indians a 65% chance to win this match

Chennai Super Kings a 35 % chance to win this match

Key Players:

Mumbai Indians

Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan has picked some form in last few outings. He scored a fiery 69 in 34 balls against RCB as MI cruised to a win. When on song, the left hander can be hard to stop and Hardik Pandya would hope that Kishan unleashes his best on CSK in coming game.

Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav made a roaring return to cricket after a long layoff and scored a 17-ball half century against RCB. Surya’s blazing start to IPL 2024 is a massive good news for the MI as he is someone who can alone win a tournament for a team.

Jasprit Bumrah

There can’t be a bigger match winner for MI than Bumrah. The star MI bowler rattled RCB with a five wicket haul that took him to the top of the table of most wickets in IPL 2024. Bumrah has been sensational, taking 10 wickets at an economy of less than 6.

Gerald Coetzee

Coetzee’s tournament has not been as good as Bumrah’s as he has been taken apart by teams. However, the South Africa pacer is a fierce competitor and will be eyeing a strong return against CSK.

MI Possible Impact Player Substitutes

Dewald Brevis, Naman Dhir, Nehal Wadhera, Harvik Desai, Shreyas Gopal

Shreyas Gopal is likely to be picked as an impact player given his all-round abilities. MI need a quality spinner but Piyush Chawla’s fitness is not up to the mark. Gopal is likely to be MI’s impact player. If they need a batter, Nehal Wadhera or Naman Dhir can be picked.

Chennai Super Kings

Rachin Ravindra

Rachin Ravindra is yet to fire but looking at him when he is at the crease makes us believe that a big innings is round the corner. He has looked assured and confident but somehow has failed to post a big score.

Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube has been magnificent. He has set the stage on fire with 176 runs in five games at an average of 44 and a strike rate of 160. He has hit as many as 13 sixes in the tournament so far and Wankhede might not be big enough if he can middle a few deliveries.

Ravindra Jadeja

Jadeja bowled a spell of 3-18 against KKR but conditions at the Wankhede Stadium will be very different from what he gets back home. He might not get that much turn but he can still trouble MI with his accuracy and pace variations. Also, he is a handy batter down the order.

Mustafizur Rahman

We have already seen that change of pace works well in T20 tournaments. Rahman has used it to his advantage and picked nine wickets in four matches so far in IPL 2024. He will be one of the most important players for CSK against MI.

CSK Possible Impact Player Substitutes

Moeen Ali, Sheikh Rashid, Mitchell Santner, Nishant Sandu, Deepak Chahar

CSK have been smart in using impact player. Mostly, Deepak Chahar will be used as an impact player as new ball can swing in Mumbai and Chahar can exploit the conditions. In case of a batter, CSK can use Shaik Rashid.

Team Forms:

MI Team Form:

MI have played five games, winning two and losing three. The team has bounced back well after losing first three games.

CSK Team Form:

CSK have done well at home, winning all three games but they have also lost both the away games.
