• Ashutosh Sharma has looked the best batter for PBKS. He played a magnificent innings of 68 against MI. He is getting high odds of 9.50 as PBKS top batter and we would suggest taking a bet on him as there is a great chance he may get promoted up the order given his form. Meanwhile, Kagiso Rabada with 10 wickets has been the best PBKS bowler. Back him as top bowler.
• Shubman Gill has scores of 89 and 72 in the tournament so we can’t say he is completely out of form. However, he needs to be more consistent given that he is the team’s best batter. Shikhar Dhawan missed the last game due to injury but is very close to making a return to the playing XI. However, he is likely to be on the sidelines till the team’s next away game against KKR. In the absence of Dhawan, Sam Curran will continue as captain against GT. Also, Jonny Bairstow was dropped from the playing XI in previous game while Liam Livingstone made a return. Livingstone has been equally poor thus Sikandar Raza could return to the team.

Despite an ordinary effort in the last game, we don’t see a lot of changes in the GT playing XI. We are surprised by the exclusion of Josh Little from the GT playing XI as he was very successful while playing for them in last two seasons. He could replace Spencer Johnson. We are backing Gujarat Titans to win. The Shubman Gill-led side has not played their best cricket but they are far more superior side than PBKS, who too have been poor. For PBKS, only Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma have performed with the bat while Kagiso Rabada has done well with the ball. You can’t win games when only three players are doing well. This is one of the major reasons why PBKS have failed to get over the line despite getting close to a win in many games. For us, GT are favourites to win.

Prabhsimran Singh will be one of the mainstays of the PBKS lineup in the absence of Shikhar Dhawan. The batter showed great form last year but hasn’t quite hit the strides yet in IPL 2024. However, he is not short on quality and is very capable to turn out to be a match winner for PBKS.

Ashutosh Sharma 

Ashutosh Sharma has been the best PBKS batter so far. Coming as an impact player, he has provided a strong finish to PBKS innings. In the last game against MI, he almost helped PBKS pull off a miraculous win after he scored 61 in 28 balls in a chase of 193. PBKS were 111-7 and it looked like the team would suffer a big defeat but Sharma turned the game on his head. PBKS only lost the game by nine runs.

Shashank Singh 

Shashank Singh has also been very impressive. Along with Sharma, he also played a handy innings of 41 against MI. He too has been mighty impressive, scoring 187 runs in 7 innings at a strike rate of 180.

Kagiso Rabada 

Rabada has been one of the bright spots for PBKS. He has taken 10 wickets in seven games for the team; however, he has lacked support from the other end.

PBKS Possible Impact Player Substitutes 

Rahul Chahar, Harpreet Singh, V Kaverappa, Nathan Elli 

Harpreet Singh was used as an impact player in last game but he failed to make a big impact. However, he should get another shot. We also think Rahul Chahar can be picked if PBKS need a bowler.

Gujarat Titans 

Shubman Gill 

Lack of runs from Shubman Gill has hurt the team. The GT skipper has played a couple of good innings of 89 and 72 but GT need a lot more runs than a few good knocks here and there. Gill will be aware it is time for him to stand up and deliver for the side else their campaign will be over soon.

Sai Sudharsan 

Sai Sudharshan has been the most consistent batter for the GT. He has scored 238 runs and looked good in patches, however, he is yet to play a real match winning knock. Also, his strike rate has been in question.

David Miller 

Miller was the cornerstone of GT’s juggernaut in last two seasons but he has hardly made an impact this season. However, he has only played 4 games so far. We are expecting a good show from Miller any time soon as a class player like him can’t be kept quiet for long.

Rashid Khan 

With 7 wickets in 7 games at an economy of 8, Rashid Khan has not been at his best in IPL 2024. However, one can’t deny the fact that he is one of the main pillars of the GT team. Rashid Khan has made vital contributions with the bat down the order but GT need him to find his bowling form as soon as possible.

GT Possible Impact Player Substitutes 

Shahrukh Khan, Manav Suthar, Darshan Nalkande, Sharath Br, Sai Kishore 

Shahrukh Khan hasn’t made much of an impact but we don’t think GT will look beyond him as an impact player given his brute power and ability to add those extra 20- 30 runs to the original total.
