• Riyan Parag has been outstanding so far. 261 run, three fifties and 17 sixes, he is going through a dream season. Parag is the best choice for top RR scorer. Yuzvendra Chahal has enjoyed a great run in IPL 2024 as well, taking 10 wickets. He is our pick for RR top wicket-taker.
• Punjab Kings need their skipper Shikhar Dhawan to fire. The left hand batter has been average so far but has played a few decent shots. Runs should come from Shikhar Dhawan in the next game so he is our top choice for PBKS best batter. Kagiso Rabada has bowled with great pace and accuracy and has been unplayable at times. We feel PBKS have given him enough chances and it calls for a change in the playing XI. We feel Bairstow will be replaced by Prabhsimran Singh and one of Liam Livingstone or Rilee Rossouw will be kept as an impact player. 

RR Team News: 

Rajasthan Royals’ bizarre strategy against GT where Samson did not use Trent Boult in the final overs left many scratching their heads. Boult had bowled two overs for eight runs yet he was not used despite being the team’s best bowler. Maybe, Boult was carrying a slight injury and Samson was protecting him. Shikhar Dhawan has been ordinary so far. Being the team’s senior most batter, PBKS would have expected more from him. Dhawan has played a few good shots but he has lost his wicket soon after. The skipper needs to play sensible cricket and curb a bit of his natural instinct. He needs to emulate Virat Kohli and try and bat through the innings.

Shashank Singh 

Shashank Singh has been a great addition to the team. He scored 61 in 29 balls against GT to help the team win and again played a knock of 46 in 25 to almost get the team pull off another heist. The youngster has shown great hitting abilities and PBKS will be elated to have someone like him down the order who can come in in the latter end of the innings and get the team quick runs.

Kagiso Rabada 

Kagiso Rabada has been brilliant for PBKS. Game after game, Rabada has shown why he is one of the best bowlers in this format of the game. The Proteas pacer has taken seven wickets in five games.

Harshal Patel 

Harshal has been very expensive so far but he showed glimpses of a return to form in the previous game where he picked two wickets for 30 runs. Harshal bowls at death mostly so there are heavy chances of him picking multiple wickets when the batters are going after the bowling. Harshal has good variations thus if he uses them smartly, he can be hard to hit.

Rilee Rossouw, Liam Livingstone, Nathan Ellis, Rahul Chahal, Rishi Dhawan 

Rilee Rossouw could be a serious contender for Impact player given the lack of runs from Bairstow and Livingstone however if the situation demands someone who can score at 200, Livingstone can also be picked. If PBKS need a bowler, Rahul Chahar will be the top choice.

Yuzvendra Chahal has turned out to be the biggest match winner for RR this season. He is the leading wicket-taker of the season so far, with 10 wickets to his name.
