Pandya is on the brink of playing his 100th IPL match for Mumbai Indians, set to face Rajasthan Royals.
Hardik Pandya, the celebrated all-rounder, is on the cusp of marking his 100th IPL appearance for Mumbai Indians (MI). This milestone game for MI will take place against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, during the 38th match on Monday, April 22.
Pandya has been a vital part of Mumbai Indians’ squad over the years. The exceptional all-rounder rejoined the team after being involved in a trade deal from Gujarat Titans ahead of the IPL 2024 season. In his 99 games for Mumbai Indians, the 30-year-old has amassed 1617 runs at an impressive average of 37.86 and a striking rate of 133.49.
Furthermore, Pandya has also contributed with the ball, taking 36 wickets for Mumbai Indians. However, the ongoing IPL 2024 season has been somewhat subdued for Hardik Pandya. In the seven matches he has played for MI, Pandya has managed to secure four wickets and scored 141 runs as a batter, averaging 23.5.
Mumbai Indians aim to challenge the soaring Rajasthan Royals
Looking ahead to the upcoming clash between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians, both teams are geared up to deliver their best performances and secure a victory. The stakes seem higher for MI, who currently occupy the seventh position in the standings with six points from seven matches, compared to RR.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals have been in exceptional form in IPL 2024, with just one loss in seven games. RR presently lead the points table with 12 points. With the playoffs almost within their grasp, the Sanju Samson-led team will aim to clinch their second victory of the season against MI and cement their spot in the IPL playoffs. Although both teams recently met at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, where Rajasthan emerged victorious, MI seems to have gained momentum since then and is eager to deliver an improved performance.
