IPL 2023: DC Retained and Released Player List with Purse Remaining
Ahead of the mini-auction, Delhi Capitals kept the players they had and released the ones they had released
The Delhi Capitals had another underwhelming performance in the IPL last season, as they were eliminated from the playoff race by the last-place Mumbai Indians in a game that was life or death. The Delhi team had advanced to the playoffs in each of the previous three seasons but faltered under Rishabh Pant’s inexperienced leadership.
The release of former captain Shreyas Iyer was the most noticeable adjustment made by Delhi Capitals to their team in the months leading up to the competition last year. Rishabh Pant took over and played quite well early on before losing steam toward the finish of the competition.

Tim Seifert and Shardul Thakur, two prominent players for the capital team, were released, with the former joining the Kolkata Knight Riders in purple. Seifert was one of Rishabh Pant’s backup keepers, along with KS Bharat, who was also dismissed prior to the IPL auction next month, so his release was a little perplexing.
Delhi’s team appears to be more dependent on its batsmen, but it would like to add a few renowned bowling talents at the mini-auction in December. On the day of the deadline, they traded in Aman Khan and raised a large sum of INR 19.45 crore. Under the direction of the erratic former Australian captain Ricky Ponting, who supports Rishabh Pant for success in the upcoming season, they will look to make some significant signings next month in the hopes of winning their first championship in 2023.
