IPL 2023: GT Retained and Released Player List with Purse Remaining
Prior to the mini-auction, Gujarat Titans kept the players they had and released the ones they had released
Gujarat Titans, led by Hardik Pandya, finished their fantastic IPL season last year after winning the championship in their inaugural year. After his leadership abilities emerged in the 2022 competition, the dynamic Indian all-rounder became the buzz of the town.
In the league stage last season, the newly established franchise dominated the opposition and was the team to beat going into the playoffs. Given their relative inexperience in the competition, the team was anticipated to stumble in the knockout rounds. But the camp managed to pull off the unthinkable by winning the championship in their first season, thanks to a combination of youth and experience.
The team is anticipated to avoid making too many adjustments to the winning group and to keep the core of players who carried them to victory the previous season. Shubman Gill, a youthful opening batter who had a successful season the previous year, will probably be available for Hardik Pandya. The Gujrat bowling lineup will be led by the world-traveling all-rounder Rashid Khan, with the brazen Protean David Miller supporting the batting order.
Prior to the IPL auction next month, the defending champions will have a purse value of INR 19.25 crore after trading Kiwi speedster Lockie Ferguson and Rahmanullah Gurbaz to KKR and releasing Dominic Drakes, Gurkeerat Singh, Jason Roy, and Varun Aaron. In order to defend their championship in the following iteration of the competition, they will strengthen their team even more during the mini-auction.
