The IPL 2022 season will begin with a match between CSK and KKR.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will begin on March 26, 2022, with defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the tournament’s opening match.

The IPL will have ten teams in 2022, thanks to the addition of two new teams, the Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans. The Lucknow side will be led by KL Rahul, while the Gujarat Titans will be led by Hardik Pandya. This year’s Indian T20 League will include a total of 74 matches.

This time, the teams will be split into two groups. Group 1 includes the Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants, while Group 2 includes the Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants.

Each team will compete against every other team in its group twice, as well as one team from the opposing group. In addition, each team will face each of the other group’s four teams once. This year’s league matches will be held in Mumbai and Pune.
