SA vs AUS Preview:

  • David Warner was out cheaply in the fourth ODI but he has been in good form in the series, scoring a century and a fifty. Back Warner to top score for Australia if they are batting first. In the case of chasing, Marnus Labuschagne is a good pick to top score for the team.
  • Quinton De Kock has been good in the ODI series but a big innings is still pending from the veteran. We feel that De Kock will be at his brutal best in the final. Back him as South Africa’s top batter.
  • The series has seen both teams hitting a lot of sixes. Once again, the total sixes in the match should be over 12.5.

Weather & Pitch Report

Weather:

The weather will be perfect for cricket, with temperature ranging between 27 and 8 degrees. There is no threat of rain during the game.

Pitch Report of SA vs AUS:

The pitch will once again be a batting-friendly surface. The ball will come on nicely onto the bat and we should be in for another high-scoring game.

Toss Prediction:

The toss will be crucial as teams batting first have won three out of the four games of the series. The captain winning the toss would be keen to bat well and post a big score on the board.

SA vs AUS Team NEWS:

SA Team News:

South Africa have played brilliant cricket in the last two games and the team will be keen to step on the park with a settled unit. Temba Bavuma did not play the fourth ODI due to a side strain and he should be back in the team for the series decider. Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the series due to injury.

AUS Team News:

Australia have been on the testing mode in the series. In the final, they will be keen to play the best combination. Sean Abbott should return in place of Michael Neser. Also, Travis Head injured himself in the third ODI so he is all set to sit out, with Josh Inglis or Cameron Green replacing him.

Winning Chances:

Australia will start as favourites despite losing the last two games. The team has plenty of firepower in the batting department and can hunt down any total set for a win. The bowling has been ordinary in the last two games but the likes of Hazlewood and Zampa are very experienced and are expected to bounce back in the final. Also, most of South Africa’s batters have got runs in the last two games but their consistency is still in question. For us, Australia are favourites.

SA vs AUS Key Players:

South Africa

Quinton De Kock

QDK has shown good form in the ODI series. While he has not played a really big knock so far, he looks set to play one in the final. A good game for De Kock will increase South Africa’s chances.

Aiden Markram

Markram scored a century in the third ODI and will be keen to end the series on a high. He is one of the most important batters for South Africa and the team will need him to be at his best ahead of the World Cup.

Heinrich Klaassen

Klaassen has been one South Africa batter who has been in tremendous form in recent times. Klaassen blasted 174 in 83 balls in the fourth ODI.

Australia

David Warner

Warner missed out in the fourth ODI. He did not get much time to set as Australia had to chase a huge score. However, the southpaw has been in good form in the series and has a century and a fifty to his name.

Marnus Labuschagne

Labuschagne has also played well in the series, scoring a century and a fifty. Labuschagne will be keen to make an impact in the series decider as it will increase his chances of a World Cup selection.

Mitchell Marsh

Mitchell Marsh has had a quiet ODI series so far but the captain might have saved his best performance for the final.

SA vs AUS Team Forms:

SA Team Form:

South Africa have bounced back well in the ODI series. The good news is that all their senior batters have scored runs in both the previous games.

AUS Team Form:

Australia have lost the previous two ODIs. In both games, the bowlers have conceded far too many runs. A better outing for the bowlers is needed for Australia in the final.

SA vs AUS SQUAD:

South Africa (SA) Squad:

Quinton de Kock(w), Reeza Hendricks, Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram(c), Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Marco Jansen, Gerald Coetzee, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Temba Bavuma, Wayne Parnell, Andile Phehlukwayo, Tabraiz Shamsi, Dewald Brevis, Tristan Stubbs, Bjorn Fortuin, Sisanda Magala
