Essex Eagles have recorded a victory and a defeat in their two opening games of the 2022 Vitality Blast. They began the campaign with a 4 wicket win over the 2021 Champions Kent Spitfires before losing by 6 wickets (DLS) to Somerset in Taunton on Sunday. Hampshire Hawks have had a disappointing start to the T20 Blast this season with two narrow defeats against Middlesex and Somerset, both at home at the Ageas Bowl.
